What does this course cover?

This course covers everything you need to start teaching yoga to children safely and with confidence. You will learn developmental milestones and how to adapt the asanas for each age group. You will look at ways to build on the fundamentals of yoga and engage children using rhythm, songs, music and play.

Do I need to be a qualified adult yoga teacher to take this course.

We have many yoga teachers on this course but it is not necessary to have a yoga teaching qualification.  You do need a minimum of two years experience of yoga and we ask for a reference from your yoga teacher.   We also have a 3-weekend BWY Module for qualified yoga teachers and trainees.

Can I attend one module only?

Yes you can but we have very limited spaces so we advise booking early.

Is the course certified?

On successful completion of the course students receive a Calm For Kids certificate and can use our graduate logo on their website and marketing material.  The course is also accredited as a vocational course by Yoga Alliance Professionals and on completion you become a Yoga Alliance Affiliate.

Does this course count as CPD points.

Yes, we are a registered training school with Yoga Alliance Professionals (UK) and also for Yoga Alliance US.

How do I apply?

You fill in the online booking form and return it to us, including your yoga referees name and email or if you are a teacher, emailing us your teaching certificate.  When we receive your form and a £100 course deposit we then review your form, apply for your reference and get back to you to confirm your place on the course.  You can email us for bank details if you want to pay by bank transfer, saving the online booking fee.

What is the maximum number of students on the course?

The maximum number of students on this course is 20 and we always have two course tutors present so you get plenty of attention.

What does this course cover?

This course includes a six week course for KS1 & KS2 as well as many other mindful exercises and activities that can be used in your classroom, in your yoga class or in your work with children.

Who can attend this course?

Anyone who has completed an 8 week MBSR course or equivalent.  We will also consider applications from those with a personal mindfulness / meditation practise. The course is ideal for our Yoga TT graduates and as it gives you many more skills for your yoga classes as well as a stand alone 6 week mindfulness course you can offer to schools.

Is the course certified?

On completion of the course students receive a Calm for Kids certificate. Mindfulness training in the UK is unregulated at this point but the course tutor is a fully qualified mindfulness teacher (Bangor University CMRP) and follows the good practice guidelines set out by the UK mindfulness network.  The course also qualifies for CPD points for Yoga Alliance Professionals UK, and Yoga Alliance (US)

How do I apply?

You complete the online booking form and return to us with the course fee of £ 325 (Yoga TT graduate £ 275). After reviewing your application we will then be able to confirm your place on the course.

What is the maximum number of students on the course?

The maximum number of students on the course is 20 and if we have more than 14 students there is always an additional tutor present.

What does this workshop cover?

This course give you skills, tools and ideas to teach yoga to teenagers giving them the benefits of yoga and mindfulness in a safe and engaging way.  You will learn how to deal with resistance and manage groups of teenagers, developing and understanding of developmental stages as well as what is happening in the teenage brain and current neuroscience research.

Who can attend this workshop?

This course is suitable for qualified yoga teachers and we also consider applications from school teachers with a serious yoga practice who would like to bring elements of yoga and mindfulness to their school and classroom.

Does this workshop count as CPD points.

This short course qualifies for CPD points for Yoga Alliance    Professionals UK, and Yoga Alliance (US)
